In the fall of 2018 the Lake County Conservation District (LCCD) wanted to try a new program where LCCD staff and volunteers would have monthly natural resources lessons with a class in Lake County. LCCD wanted to give students an opportunity to learn about natural resources conservation topics in more detail by having lessons on a variety of natural resources subjects! LCCD calls this new program the Junior Conservationist Program. Lesson topics are listed below:
- Introduction to Natural Resources Conservation
- Soil Conservation
- Wildlife Conservation
- Water Conservation
- Plant Conservation
- Pollinator Conservation
We also have an Aquatic Invasive Species Educational Trunk available for teachers to check out. It comes with 4 lessons on AIS and Noxious Weeds. Lesson plans are all included in the trunk and they’re all about an hour long! Contact us to use it in your classroom at (406) 676-2811 x 102. Happy teaching! :)
